I’ve been obsessed with capturing life moments for as long as I can remember.

Hi, I am Sam!

Green Eggs and Ham is more than just a side hustle. It’s a way of combining my love for photography with my deep belief in the power of community and collective action. I shoot the things that matter to me: the energy of a live gig, the power of a political rally, the quiet beauty of a landscape, or the intimacy of a candid portrait. I believe in telling stories that are real, grounded, and full of feeling - especially the stories that often go unseen.

My earliest memories of photography involve disposable cameras on school camps and grainy shots on a cheap digital camera I carried everywhere. When I was 18, I bought my first DSLR (a Pentax K50 which I have since lost to the ether) and I haven’t stopped shooting since.

I’m entirely self-taught, thanks to a lot of trial and error (and a whole lot of YouTube). These days I shoot both digital and film - mostly on my Canon R6ii, but I still bring along my trusty AE-1 35mm camera for when I want to slow down and lean into the imperfections.

What drives me is connection. I believe photography is a tool for bearing witness - to joy, to resistance, to change. Whether I’m documenting a protest for social justice, capturing a grassroots community event, or shooting a folk band in a dark pub, I want my images to feel alive, to honour the moment, and to reflect the people at the heart of it.

I’m based in Ballaarat (on Wadawurrung Country), and I’m always up for a shoot if the project speaks to me - especially if it’s local, independent, or pushing for a better world.

Let’s make something that matters.
